Big Weekend Coming up and Some Jane Goodies

Happy Thursday!!! I am so excited that the weekend is almost here!  Today, I am prepping some snack food for our College Football viewing, as well as helping Madi out at her Swim a thon that will be taking place Saturday.  This is her swim team’s biggest fundraiser of the year and all the money they raise will go towards the needs of the team and swimmers and to host meets, etc.  Madi is loving her time on the swim team.  She has stated that she would love to compete at the Olympics when they are in LA in 2028 so here we go!!!  So proud of this chick!

I have something fun to share with y’all.  It is no secret that I enjoy shopping and sharing with you guys the cutest clothes that I find on the interwebs. There are so many amazing women who own the cutest boutiques, and I am constantly in heaven, much to my husband’s horror.  He hides the wallet!

I also love a really good deal and if you have never heard of Jane.com, allow me to introduce you! I was introduced to this company last year by my sweet friend, after I asked her  about a really cute shirt she was wearing in a video. She told me that she practically gets most of her clothes from there.  I didn’t know what to expect, and I was hesitant at first because there are a lot of clothing websites on Facebook and Instagram that aren’t legit and will scam you of your money (and they aren’t even located in the US and the shipping takes forever, if it even arrives at all.)

But I have been so happy with Jane.  A lot of my favorite pieces in my closet have come from this store and I love that they partner with boutiques and small businesses and they are at a great price point!

Dress  and booties from Jane.com

Here are some pieces I am eyeing right now on their site:

Ankle Booties / 3 Colors

Ruffle Sleeve Babydoll Top

Slide Loafers with Tassel / 6-11!

Fall Floral Swing Dress!

They even have stuff for your home and your children!

Striped Turkish Hand Towels

Oversized Farmhouse Style Vinyl Designs

Personalized Hoodie Sets / 0-24 Months

(basically, I need a cute little girl to dress up!)

There are a ton of great items on this site. And a lot of these items that are shown (among others) are only available for a short period of time. It is essentially a deal site where you can buy really cute clothes, accessories, home goods, and more at a special deal and then once the time is up, that’s it! And things do sell out often on this site, so if you see something you LOVE, don’t hesitate to grab it.

You can also download the app as well, but take it from  me, that is really dangerous. LOL!

I hope you will check them out!  I would love to hear what you think.  Expect me to share a lot of deals on my facebook and Instagram when I come upon them because I truly do love this site!

I Have a Slight Problem…

I have been shopping for cute fitness gear a lot lately. Spring is here and I am all about the florals and gorgeous pastels!!! Like this gorgeous set I picked up at Old Navy *swoon*

Tank and bottoms from Old Navy

Sometimes, we just need a little motivation for healthy living. And truly, nothing motivates me quite like a new outfit! Whenever I reach a fitness or a business goal, shopping is generally on the reward list. Haha! If I could get paid to shop, I would be all over that! (Actually, you kind of can….heard of Ebates? 😘 You’re welcome!)

I thought I would share with you a few of my favorite purchases lately and where you can grab them. Some really cute and decently priced items out there! Yes, you can look cute and break a sweat!

Tanks and bras from Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Dick’s Sporting Goods was having a sale recently so I picked up a couple of pieces. I was looking at Carrie Underwood’s Calia line, but I am still not quite ready to spend $60 on a pair of leggings. And the most I really like to spend on a sports bra is about $40 (and that is pushing it! It better keep the girls in!) The Reebok line has some great bras and tanks, and they hold everything in! Yes, please!

Tanks and leggings from Fabletics

Have you guys tried Fabletics yet? If you haven’t, you need to! Such amazing, beautiful and functional (so important!) fabrics! I don’t order pieces from them all the time, only when I really need or want something brand new. But I have loved what I have purchased so far. I think they are worth every penny! And they aren’t that expensive as it is!

Tank from Cross Training Couture

You have already seen the leggings, but I had to share about my newest buy. That tank from Cross Training Couture. Doesn’t it scream spring? And you guys, it is so soft!!!!! I almost didn’t want to sweat in it! One of my new favorites!

Bras from Victoria’s Secret.

I don’t think I have shared about these yet. I purchased them back in December, but these bras are legit! Holds everything in. Perfect for high intensity performance and not that expensive! I think the blue one cost about $30! The other two were $15. Yes!!!!! Don’t write off VS’s sports line. They have some great performing gear. So far, I like their bras the best. I haven’t purchased any pants yet.

That is what I have for you today! Would love hear where you are shopping for workout clothes?! I know Marshall’s and Target have some great pieces out right now as well!

Fashion Confidence for the Average Gal

When I was in my 20’s, I wasn’t exactly the most fashionable of people. My husband liked to joke that I really only wore jeans, a turtleneck sweater and these faux snakeskin boots. Like, everyday. I also didn’t really wear makeup except for the occasional lipstick and some foundation, blush, and mascara. It was like a foreign language to me. And I was in pageants! (Clearly, not Miss USA material! 😂)

Lucky for me, my husband thought I was amazing enough to marry and we have been married for nearly 13 years. Gals, you don’t need to be a beauty queen to snag a guy.

Because before I dive into my fashion post, let me remind you.

Real beauty and confidence comes not from the latest trends and advertisements.

It comes from God alone. He has already defined beauty. It doesn’t change with the seasons and it doesn’t have a “color of the year” that you must adhere to if you want to “IN.”

How word is clear on what a beautiful and confident woman looks like.

“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” Proverbs 31:30

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news…” Isaiah 52:7

A woman who chooses to trust in the Lord, to praise Him all the days of her life, who chooses to be a rare jewel in a society of imitation. That is far more lovely than any fashionable outfit you could come up with.

Now, fashion is fun. I love clothes and shoes and accessories. I am inspired by the prints and colors that I see regularly on social media and in my favorite shops. It is okay to be inspired. It is okay to get creative.

For those of you who feel like you have no idea what style is or how to feel put together because all you feel you are just a mom with her kids, doing the mom thing: you can still do the mom thing, love your kids, and feel cute. I used to be where you are. I found what works for me and I am here to share with you!

1. What do YOU like?

Do you? Do you want something that is easy to put together without a whole lot of thought? Do you prefer pants or dresses? Muted or bold colors? Accessories? A lot or a little? What inspires you? When you look at fashion photos, what are you drawn to? Usually, it is catches your eye and you admire it, chances are, that is part of your “style” so go ahead and replicate it!

2. Invest in a few good pieces.

I believe investing in a couple of pairs of really good jeans is worth it. You will wear them a lot, so having a good solid pair that can take a beating is worth it! A good jacket and/or vest and a little black dress is always a win as well. Most tops and dresses and even shoes you can get for relatively inexpensive (hello Marshall’s and Nordstrom’s Rack and Target!) If you do have to buy some new things, don’t feel like you have to buy everything at once. It is okay to buy what you can, and then go from there.

3. Get inspired by fashion magazine and social media pages, but allow them to be the rule.

You set the tone for your own fashion. You like what you like. Don’t allow anyone to tell you that it isn’t in fashion, that it isn’t designer, that they don’t like it. If they wouldn’t wear it, great. But you are not dressing for them. You are dressing for YOU. You are dressing with confidence that fits your lifestyle, your beliefs, your ideals, your family.

I wear a lot of Lularoe and Jane.com stuff and other small businesses. Why? Because their clothing fits my style and lifestyle. I am a work at home mama with two school age children in sports and a husband in local church ministry. My style and fashion choices work for me. You do you, boo.

4. Enjoy the process.

Your fashion choices WILL change as you get older. They are constantly developing. That is just the way it is. I am obsessed with wearing dresses right now, but who knows, I might be over it in a couple of months and just want to wear shorts and a cute t-shirt and converse and head to the beach! But who cares! Again, do you!

Some of my favorite places to shop:

The Mint Julep Boutique

Lularoe (my sister has just launched her own boutique! Go support her! 😍)

Be Still Clothing Company

Marshall’s/TJ Maxx

Nordstrom’s Rack

Charming Charlie (for accessories and shoes and cute gifts)

Tell me all about your style? Your likes and dislikes? What scares you about fashion and dressing up? I want to see what you all come up with! You gals inspire me! 😍

Fall Outfits I have Been Loving

I love dressing for Fall.

Get me some skinny jeans or leggings, oversized tops and sweaters, scarves, booties or boots, and I am so good to go.  If you haven’t guessed, I LOVE shopping. I love clothes. I love helping my friends find cute outfits and deals and helping them feel like the cute sassy mamas that they are.  My mission is really to help women feel good in their skin and say so long to insecurity. (Great book by Beth Moore by the way! Go read it!)

Here are just a few of my favorite outfits recently:

We are still experiencing high temps here in SoCal, but pretty soon, I won’t be able to wear those cute shorts or dresses. But these have been my favorite go to pieces so far.  I love oversized tops.  And if you recognize a few of those pieces, yes, they are LuLaRoe.  I don’t know what happened, but I have become obsessed with their clothing.

I don’t sell it, but I know several amazing gals who would love to style you if you have ever wanted to try them out. Their leggings? Like buttah!

There are also some great pieces at H&M, Old Navy, Brickyard Buffalo, Jane.com, and of course, Target!!!! That is where I stock up on most of my seasonal wear.  I also love layering too, which comes in really handy when the weather cools down and you have dresses that can go from summer to fall.  Don’t be afraid to mix and match and get creative.  IG and Pinterest are great places to get inspiration so you can find a style all your own and rock it!

Be a Size You,

Fitness Fashion for Frugal Mamas

I love shopping for clothes. It makes me happy. Some people enjoy going to the spa, getting their nails done. Eating out.

But for me? Drop me off at the mall or a cute little downtown area with fun boutiques and I am one happy gal! It fills my tank! Drains my bank account but there is no need to talk about that right now!

And speaking of shopping, I get a lot of questions asking me where I buy my fitness clothes. Truthfully, I don’t spend like to spend a lot of money on active wear. I LOVE Lorna Jane and Athleta, but seriously, spending $60 on leggings makes me cry just a tiny bit. I really only spend that kind of money if I obsess over them after seeing them in a store. I have to LOVE my purchase.

Before I went to Summit, I went to Forever 21 to find some workout clothes for myself and I was pleasantly surprised! I picked up a couple of really cute pieces, but I saw some online that I thought would be great to pick up later. Plus, they won’t break the bank!

There are so many to choose from!! This is one of those things that I like to reward myself with after finishing a fitness program. I will buy myself clothes or cute gear to motivate me to keep going, long after I have finished a program. Incentives are fun!

What are your favorite places to shop for workout gear?
