Why You Don’t Need More Inspiration or Motivation

Inspiration is everywhere. Have you noticed that? Whether we are being inspired to create a beautiful home, or new delicious recipes that will wow your family and friends, or outfit inspirations, we are literally inundated with inspiration and ideas that are meant to move us to action.

Pinterest is a dreamers haven. But I have also found it is the place where dreams go to die.

Why?

Because being inspired is not the same as action.  Honestly, it is easy to be inspired. Dare I say, it is even easy to be motivated.

Action, on the other hand, is harder. Because that means you have to make a decision to move or do something based on what you have seen.

If what you saw inspired you enough to move, and you actually took action, then fantastic! It worked!!!

But, if you are constantly being inspired but nothing happens….then you don’t need anymore inspiration.

You need an action plan. You need to move.

People like to chat about being inspired. But being inspired costs you nothing. Literally. It is free. I post on social media every day my workouts, or about something I have read that encouraged me, in order to inspire and encourage all of you. And it is all free for you. I don’t charge for my inspiration. I give that away because I know it can benefit the heart of the reader.

But, if you come to me wanting my help to take action, I will require YOU to put some skin in the game. That means, you will have to invest your time and dollars in order for you to reach your desired goal. Action requires skin in the game. It does not require more motivation or inspiration. Those help to keep momentum. Heck, we all love an “Atta Girl!” Now and then! No shame in that!

But if you aren’t willing to move and put some skin on, then you are wanting to achieve anything.

Are you ready for this? I say this in love. Completely. Because I love you.

You just want to be inspired. You aren’t looking to change. You don’t want to change, yet. You are not there yet.

“But why do I have to spend so much money to get healthy/build my business/get training/etc.

Because. If you put into it, it will matter more to you. You will care more. It will hurt more because it cost you something. My journey was not free. It still isn’t. I invest regularly into my health, my relationships, my home, my business, because it matters to me! I have skin in this. It matters.

I know that part is painful. We don’t like to give any part of ourselves if we aren’t sure if it will work out. There are no guarantees, really.

But what if. Just what if you decided to take that inspiration, invest in it, and be surprised by the outcome.

You may discover it was worth it.

Hope In Front Of Me

Lately, I have been having heart breaking conversations with friends and those I have connected with via social media.

Loss, marriage struggles, job loss, financial struggle, parenting, and so much more.

It seems walking out our faith takes a lot out of us. It is hard some days.

And for a lot of us, it may feel like those days are never going to come to an end.

Music has always been an encourager in my life. I know I have mentioned before, but when a song comes on with just the right words that match what my heart is feeling, it is like I am strengthened or moved to action. It is like God allows powerful words into my life that will remind me of the hope I have.

We were cleaning the house today, and the song by Danny Gokey “Hope In Front of Me” came on.
I was touched by these words:

There’s hope in front of me

There’s a light, I still see it

There’s a hand still holding me

Even when I don’t believe it

I might be down but I’m not dead

There’s brighter days still up ahead

Even after all I’ve seen

There’s hope in front me

Danny Gokey “Hope In Front of Me” 2014

You might be down, but girlfriend…you are not dead!

The same God who created the heavens and earth sees you and loves you.

The same God who can raise the dead to life can raise you from whatever valley you find yourself in. As painful as it is and hurt as you may be feeling right, God absolutely 100% hears your cries for help. It may not come in the time you wish, but He has not left you alone.

I remember those long nights when my heart was so broken, I was so unsure of what tomorrow would bring. I wasn’t sure I could take much more. But sister, that is the point. We cannot rely on our own strength in hard times. It is in His strength and power that we are able to overcome. He did not call us to be wonder women. He called us to be His.

And when we allow our brokenness and pain to be laid bare at Him who can heal, you see the glory of who He is and just what He is capable of doing in the lives and hearts of His precious daughters.

So you are not dead. There is hope for those of us in Christ.

Protein Energy Bites

Did someone say protein?

I hate buying protein bars. Personally, I think they are overpriced and really not that good. If I can make them myself, I will.

One reason why I am thankful for Shakeology is for the fact that it is complete nutrition in a shake, and a great powder to use for “baking”……only this recipe is a no bake.

No raw eggs. No weird ingredients, just goodness.

This is a standard recipe that many of us coaches have used, but you can easily switch it up and make different versions of these protein bites to please your palate.

My kids love these and while they can last a week, they won’t.

You will need to practice serious self control. Ha!

Protein energy bites

3 scoops/packets of Vanilla Shakeology or Vegan Shakeology

1/2 cup raw honey

1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut

1/2 cup organic almond butter (or nut butter of choice)

1/2 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

Place all ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix together well. Roll dough into small balls (should make roughly around 12 balls) and let sit in the freezer for 10-15 minutes to set.

Then store in a container for up to a week.

Enjoy! I also went live earlier this week with another version of this recipe. Equally as good!!!

What’s Next For Me in my Health & Fitness Journey

Hey all!

It has been awhile since I have done a weekly recap of my fitness and health adventures, so I thought I would briefly check in here to share what is going down.

I will be finishing up my first 30 days of Piyo this week. It has actually felt so good to just stretch and not jump. My body feels more flexible. I don’t feel as run down, and I feel stronger too. This was an awesome break from the extreme fitness I was used to.

Starting on Monday, I will be diving into 21 Day Fix Extreme, which is a 3-week fitness and nutrition program. I love the 21 Day Fix Series. Anytime I need something short but effective when it comes to fitness, that is my go to, unless it is dancing. I will be back to lifting weights, cardio and body weight exercises this time, so really focusing on my nutrition for muscle growth and stamina, and having Shakeology to fill in the nutrition gaps I may be missing, as well as a ton of Energize on hand, is what will get me through. Don’t think for a second that this program is easy. Lol!

If you have done the basic 21 Day Fix and don’t know the difference between the Fix and Extreme, here is a handy tool for you.

For those curious about how I eat, I will follow a mostly Paleo diet. It will still work with this program.

For those of you in my upcoming Bootcamp that begins Monday, I will be sharing a “how to choose your fitness program” tutorial today in our community. Not in my May Bootcamp but would like to join us? There is still room! Just click on the contact me button or apply here

Nutrition will be huge for me. I have already shared about how my nutrition and changing to a more Paleo lifestyle has helped me in my overall fitness transformation, but I want to share how I think eating differently will help you as well.

It doesn’t have to be technically Paleo. But it should be nutrient dense, and real food. I see so many on social media about women who are looking to get healthier and change their bodies, but they don’t really eat that different. OR they go the extreme route and do a diet or cleanse believing that it will help speed up their metabolism or help them lose weight, but then they find themselves back to where they started. They may see some weight loss in the beginning, but after the diet is over or the juice cleanses are done, it is a heavy reality.

Food isn’t something you can kind of sort of stick with. You must constantly be researching, experimenting, cooking, trying new things. Food isn’t one size fits all. But I will say the eating whole food is for everyone. Stop buying the pre-packed frozen health food and start making your own. If you need something quick and nutritious so you can avoid junk food, this is why I recommend Shakeology. It doesn’t have to be overly complicated meals. Keep it simple, sister. If you keep telling yourself that it is too expensive, too much time, or that you are too busy, those are excuses that need to go. You need to re-think your priorities and your beliefs. Just tell yourself instead that it is not worth the time, the money, or the effort to do these things in order to be healthier.

Honestly, when you tell yourself that, how does it sound?

Because I really believe that nutrition is such a key factor in your results, I will be posting my meals each week on social media. I won’t do it daily, but basically a weekly recap so you can see by what I mean when I say easy, nutritious, and delicious. I promise, it won’t be complicated.

I will also share my favorite places to eat out that provide locally sourced and organic options. Worth it to find awesome restaurants in your area to help you!

As always, my heart and mission is to encourage you and push you. You are worth it, sister friend!

You V2.

How many times have you watched me or someone else do a fitness program from Beachbody and had this thought:

“That looks awesome and I bet it works….but I am not physically ready to go that hard yet.”

Mama friend, let me tell you. I hear you loud and clear. Not everyone is ready for bootcamp or crossfit style workouts. That is just the reality. And for the longest time, I have felt like Beachbody was missing those amazing people. Not intentionally. Piyo and Cize and Country Heat are perfect. And 21 Day Fix. But we needed something else.

And you need to see others who are like you doing this. Enough with the skinny Minnie fitness people who don’t look like they need to workout.

You want something different. You want to see something different.

Here you go. Introducing YouV2.

What is it?

Get ready to party, sweat, and celebrate becoming the new you every time you press play. Yes. This is for you!!
The workouts will be 30 minutes long for 5 days a week for a total of 4 weeks. And if you want to keep going with the program, you can do multiple rounds, which personally I love because that builds consistency. And consistency gets you results and transforms you. Which is what you want…..right?

CDF recap Week 3

So far, I am feeling really good. These are my results so far from Core De Force. I am really, really happy and my husband has said that he really notices a change all over.

Something I have noticed too is that when I look in the mirror in my bedroom, I can see clearly all the changes. I can feel them in my clothes as well.

But, because I lack a tan, and I am so dang white, my results are not showing up in pictures as well. Which kind of irritates me but I guess that is what I get for being pale. Lol! I don’t have shredded abs, that’s for sure. But I feel pretty good about them!

*Side note: you do not have to work towards shredded abs in order to feel progress. Whatever results YOU want to work towards, go for that. I have my specific goals and you will have yours.

Getting ready for my final week of CDF and I am super excited about finishing. This program has been hard for me to push through, honestly. I like it. It is a really good fitness program. But I think I enjoy working out to it LIVE with others than I do at home, if that makes sense. It definitely is not my favorite at home fitness program. But it is good. Just not my favorite. And that is okay. I have quite a few favorites to go back to.

Right after I am done with CDF, I will be doing Piyo! I am so excited to take a break from intense programs and do something low impact but effective and continue to strengthen and lengthen my body.

An example of what I did this week with CDF:

On deck for Week 4:

Monday: MMA Plyo & Core Kinetics

Tuesday: Power Sculpt & 5 Min. Core on the Floor

Wednesday: MMA Plyo & Core Kinetics

Thursday: Dynamic Strength & 5 Min. Core on the Floor

Friday: MMA Speed & Core Kinetics

Saturday: MMA Shred & Core Kinetics

Sunday: Active Recovery

I am really determined to finish this program because, hello, if you finish and turn in your results, you get a free t-shirt. And this girl likes free stuff. Haha!!

I am ready to take on a new week! Let’s do this! My 7 Day Spring into Health challengers begin on Monday and we are ready to kick some booty! 💪🏻

Give Thanks for He is Good

One of the most treasured gifts I have received from a friend was this prayer journal.

When I first became a Christian, I would journal every thought, prayer, hope, conflict, and dream on fresh pages of notebook paper, or wherever I could find a blank space. I doodled and dreamed as I poured my heart out to the One I was so in love with.

By the time I met Dan, my husband, I had already filled several journals with my thoughts and prayers. A few years ago, I had the chance to revisit them and my eyes nearly rolled out of my head as I read each page. Some of my “needs” were very self centered and centered on relationships with boys. I am embarrassed to admit that, but hey, it is the truth! Ha! (I bet some of you gals can relate. If not, you are fortunate!)

I had shared with you about our family prayer board that we got a few weeks ago, but this little journal pictured above is my favorite. It is all mine. After I spend time in His word, I get to writing. I get to praying. I pray for my husband. I pray for my kids. I pray for the needs of my friends. And it all goes down on paper, along with the iced coffee stains.

After reading Psalm 136 one morning, I quickly got to work on writing my own Psalm of praise.  Have you ever done that? Have you ever just taken a moment to write out exactly what God has done for you in your life? Yes, we reflect on Jesus’s death, burial, and resurrection, but share more. Write out how He:

*Provided for your family in your time of need.

*When a family member came to know Jesus after years of praying.

*A loved one healed of disease or overcoming addiction or pain.

*A marriage being restored.

*Children who were prodigals returning home.

Shouting to the world what the Lord has done for you….our stories are all different. Yet God has met each and every one of us where we are and shown His mercy and grace and incredible power.

Can I challenge you, next time you pray, to recount ALL that He has done for you. We see it over and over again in the Psalms the recalling of God and His might and power and what He had done for the children of Israel.

Now, let us do the same.

The Weekly Workout That Didn’t Really Happen

I started off week 3 with a bang!

I was so excited because, hello, I am almost done with this program!!! I really like it, but I am not sure I am falling in love with it like I did with 22. But I am enjoying learning how to punch and kick and I am doing more push-ups that I ever thought possible.

Anyway, week 3 kind of got put on the back burner because our family……

HEADED TO LEGOLAND!!

It was the final week of Spring Break for my kiddos (they get two weeks off instead of one) so Dan and I wanted to treat them to something fun and Legoland was the choice. They had a great deal where you buy one day get four days free and admission included Legoland, SeaLife Aquarium, and the water park. Yes, please!!! Our kids were so excited!

So basically, my workout meant a lot of walking and swimming 😂

So while yes, I was “off routine” but honestly, my kids are only this little for so long. I would much rather make sure they get enough Momma and Daddy time. You all know I am consistent and dedicated to my health and fitness. This week won’t deter me one bit.

We needed this week of fun and no routine. It is good for us once in awhile.

And that is what Be a Size You is. I can share consistency, but we can also express freedom. My kids emotional Cup is filled this week because we decided to play.

So, with that being said, week 3 is going to be done over…because I can. There are no rules! You won’t get kicked out of the health and fitness club if you do over the week!

On deck for Core De Force this week:

Repeat of last week!

When Opportunities Arise, Do We Pray Boldly?

Mug from CrossTraining Couture

The morning I took this picture, it was after a pretty exciting night of opportunity for my family.  Let’s just say, if God so wills, it could be a pretty amazing thing for Dan and for our calling into ministry.

I woke up excited, slightly anxious (I hate the waiting and the unknown).  I texted a few soul sisters of mine who I could count on for their prayers and encouragement.

I prayed boldly. I have been praying boldly. When you pray, do you pray bold prayers?

I know so often, we pray generic prayers like

“Lord, if it is your will, then let it be done.”

Which is true. We should be praying in all things for it to be God’s will. That it is because what we are praying for is for Kingdom glory and not for our own. But get specific. It is okay to ask for something specifically.

When Dan decided to leave the Ranch, and he had not job in sight at the time, we prayed boldly together for the opportunity to get back into the local church. That is where our heart was and that is where we wanted to be.  I have always believed that God has specifically called Dan to local church ministry.  He has had his fair share of tossing around other career ideas, but you can’t burn out the flame of God’s call on your life.

Ministry is Dan’s calling.  It won’t die out until God says it is time to be done.

During that time, while in my In Laws home, I created a prayer door.  I would use post it notes and place my prayers on that door. I prayed for my kids while they attended school. For our transition into ministry. For provision.  I prayed for Dan’s call into ministry.

I prayed for my team.

When Dan got the job at Cornerstone Church, I prayed for a place for us to live. I was even specific about what we would love to live in.  I prayed for the education choice I was going to have to make for my kids.

I didn’t get everything I wanted. But I got everything I needed.

That is what prayer does.  It is our way of communicating with our Heavenly Father who sees what we need and even sees what we want.  We get to lay it all out in front of Him. And in His goodness, like a loving daddy who desires to give good gifts to his children, that is what our Heavenly Father does. We don’t get everything we want, but we get everything we need.

I see too often women who love Jesus afraid to pray bold prayers because they think that if they do, then it won’t happen. No, sweet sister. Pray your bold prayers! Get on your knees before Him and share those heartfelt desires of yours. What are those needs? What are your dreams?

Do you get excited about the opportunities that come your way? Do you pray boldly for them? Can I challenge you to do that?

Let’s get excited about the possibilities God places in front us to serve His people. Love God. Love His people.  Whether they are job opportunities, ministry opportunities, or just the chance coffee date with a new gal pal, get excited about it.

You may not get everything you want. But you will get everything you need.

I am constantly encouraged when I read in Matthew 21:13

“And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

I am also encouraged to pray boldly when in Psalm 37:4 calls us to:

“Delight yourselves in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”

Delight in my heavenly Father. When I spend time kneeling before Him and pouring out my heart to Him and digging into His precious Word so that I can be more and more like Him, the more my prayers are molded to reflect His heart. I don’t spend time with Him or delight in Him because I want to get what I want.

I delight in Him because I know, like with any good father, that I may not get everything I want.

But I will get everything I need.

And He is faithful always with what we present before Him.

Pray boldly,

Tiffany

The Widow Maker

Yesterday was a blur. And mostly because Monday did not happen like it normally does.

I was in my groove. I was working, I was getting my 7 Day Keep It Simple challengers ready to kick off on Monday. I was conversing with friends, and I was enjoying a peaceful and productive day.

That changed quickly after phone call from my sister. My Dad had suffered a heart attack and was in the hospital.

That I needed to hurry. I don’t even remember responding at first. I think she even asked me if I was still on the line. I was in tears and thankfully, Dan was home and got up and was right at my side.

All I remember was being frantic, trying to figure out how to head to the hospital, which was an hour away from us, how to get the kids. Should we take the kids? Did we even have time? Was my Dad even alive? I had no other info except “heart attack” and “get to hospital”.

Dan decided to drive us because I was just in no condition to drive. I was shaking.

I remember yelling out “Not today God. You can’t take him today.”

I wasn’t trying to boss God around, although my husband now jokes that I was being bossy. But I was desperate. It is was in my pleading and praying that I had no other words or thoughts except “No. Please NO.”

I am sure there are theological errors in how I prayed yesterday. I will let God correct me.

My Dad is alive. We got to the hospital. He was talking. He was joking with us. I could tell he was trying to brush it off a little bit. I am sure it was a little humbling with your entire family there, especially your grown daughters, clucking and crying over you. I don’t like people asking me what is wrong or worrying over me. I get that from my Dad.

They called it the Widow Maker, the heart attack my Dad had. Most men that experience this type of heart attack don’t even make it to the hospital. Death is not instant but it is almost always certain. He almost died. I cried all the way to the hospital and suddenly in the room, hearing the Doctor share what they had to do in order to help fix him and stabilize him. I am still processing everything. I am not even sure if this post makes any sense.

I left the hospital thanking God for His mercy. That my Daddy is still here. Changes are going to have to be made. My Dad had to cancel some big trips and plans. But I would much rather have him here.

This morning, I woke up a little more heavy hearted, but ready.

I did some yoga from Beachbody on Demand and spent time listening to worship music and praying.

Listening to my Mom and my Aunt talk about our health family history put all of this in perspective.

It was a wake up call again for me. Our family is a ticking time bomb of health concerns. Cancer. Diabetes. Heart Disease. That runs in my family. But I don’t have to play victim. I can’t prevent everything from happening to me. I don’t have that kind of power.

But I can be pro-active. I can choose to eat differently. I can know my family health history and live in a way that can reduce my risks. This is in no way to shame my Daddy. I am so thankful.

But I am wide awake right now. I well aware of the dangers. I have always a researcher. You better believe when I got home last night that I started researching for my Daddy. For myself. For my family.

Because just because it is a part of your family history doesn’t mean you have to just take it lying down. I am too stubborn to live that way. That is not a hill I am willing to die on.

So far, our prayers are that there was little to no permanent damage to his heart. He will be at the hospital for the next few days. I am so grateful to this community. Thank you in advance for praying for us. Your outpouring of love and support on social media has been overwhelming and we are so incredibly humbled and grateful.

Be a Size You,

Tiffany
